It's Just a Number

Getting older is a fact of life!  But if you let the number define you, then it becomes the thing that you dread.  Take for instance when I turned 25, my friends said "You are half a century old now!".  Boy, that did not feel good.

That was a while ago now and I am approaching another big milestone birthday next year.  I am not dreading it!   It is just a number!!!

Celebrate every Happy Birthday!

Another Patriotic Card

This time of year you spend a lot of time thinking of those who have served our country and why we have an Independence Day celebration to commemorate the history of struggles that the United States of America has faced.  No matter what political affiliations you have or what your views are on the state of things, our past has made us what we are and those who have fought for our freedom deserve our thanks.

Right now I have a nephew who is overseas in Afghanistan and we are constantly thinking of him and counting down the days until he is safe at home.  He, and all the young men and women who serve, need to come home safe.

It is with him in mind that this card was made.  It will be sent to him in a care package filled with goodies from home to make things a little better while he is away.

Patriotic Cards

With all the birthday celebrations and graduations June is FLYING by!  Wow I cannot believe that I am already planning for July but alas it is not really that far away.

Do you send out cards for Independence Day?  I have for the past few years and since I love stars I wanted to use them for my 4th of July cards that I will be sending out.  Two of the cards that I will be featuring at my Patriotic Cards Workshop on June 8th are below.  The third design is still bouncing around in my head.

First card is something that another A Muse Studio Consultant Melissa Roell posted and I have also seen other variations on Pinterest (gotta LOVE Pinterest!).

The second card is my design and I am happy with the way it came out.  I love the double die cutting of the stars though I do have to say that if you are making a large quantity your arm is going to get a workout!
The dies I used are the A Muse Studio Star Trio and the Fishtail Pennant.  I die cut the star first using the largest Star die and then double die cut it using the smallest Star die.   It is a fabulously fun technique to do. It is one of the techniques that will be featured at my Camp Wanna Stamp workshops coming up in July and August (stay tuned).

Of course all products are A Muse Studio!  The sentiments used on both cards is from the Let Freedom Ring stamp set.

If you have questions about either card, feel free to post a comment or send me an email.

Spectacular Birthday

My grand-niece just celebrated her 1st birthday!  It seems like yesterday that my nephew was just celebrating his first birthday.  Unfortunately my nephew was not able to attend the party, he is stationed in Afghanistan but he was able to see his daughter at her party via Skype.  Gotta love technology!

Anyway, here is the card that I made for her birthday.  All products A Muse Studio.
