To continue with the Tags theme, here is another look at tags from past workshops.  These tags are from the second of my 2012 Christmas Tags Workshop.

I hope you have been inspired to make some tags for your Christmas presents.  You put so much care into picking out the right gift that the perfect tag can make it an even bigger joy to open!

Tags Galore

My 2013 Christmas Tags Workshop is but a memory now and it was an enjoyable time.  In my flurry to design the tags for the workshop I must have lost track of how many I had done.  Imagine my surprise when one of the women who attended found when she was counting her tags that she had made 11 instead of 10 which is what was supposed to be the number!   It was a happy accident to be sure!

I hope you enjoy the tags as much as I do.  I have posted the stamp sets used in the photo captions.  Please feel free to leave comments or ask questions about any that you may want specifics on.  I do not mind sharing!

All products are A Muse Studio.

Happy World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day 2013!

I had a great day with a bunch of fabulous women who came to my Sequins, Straws and Splash workshop! It was an Open House for people to come and play with some neat products.

The card featured here uses the brand new Golddust Splash!  The picture does not do it justice!  It is very sparkly in person and goes nicely with the sequins.  And speaking of sequins, they are so much fun and really pop.  The stamp sets that I used are SPRINGTIME DA.   The background is the SCRIPT BACKGROUND.   To assemble the card I sprayed the Splash first and let it dry for a few minutes.  Remember with Splash that a little goes a long way and that you can always add more.  Next is the SCRIPT BACKGROUND stamped in WHEAT ink, followed by the SPRINGTIME DAY set with the beautiful rose.  Rounded out with the sentiment from HAND SCRIPTED and SEQUINS and Voila, a gorgeous card.  The women who made this card loved that you can use this card for SO many occasions.  It is a pretty quick card to make and it does look much better in person that what my pictures shows.

Happy Haunting

Happy Haunting!  This time of year is so much fun and I love making Halloween cards.

This card was fun to design and love that I can use so many pieces from a set on one card!  The Boo is cut using the Tall Alphabet Die Set and the bat is from the Candy Box Die Set from A Muse Studio.

To make the sentiments appear more 'spooky' I wiggled them a bit to make the text bolder.  It kind of gives it a sort of drippy look.

More Boris

Here is another card featuring BORIS from the A Muse Studio You're A Scream set that is in the Holiday Catalog.

You Blinded Me With Science

The card above is a design out of the Holiday Catalog.  This is a super quick card to make and with the ability to die cut Boris using the A Muse Studio Digital Designs, making multiples has never been so easy!  Want to make this card?  If you are local to me, this is one of the projects that will be featured at my Halloween Workshop this Saturday, September 14th at 10:00 a.m.  Hope you can make it.  If you are not local and want more details on this cards, drop me an email.

Love Affair with Boris

Boris was one of the first stamps that I bought, oh so many years ago, when I fell in love with A Muse Artstamps!   Being married to someone who works in the sciences along with so many of our friends, he is a perfect addition!  I am SO happy that A Muse Studio has included him and Bernice in their Holiday Catalog

So now onto my plans for the Halloween Workshop that I am hosting on September 14th.  Who better to herald in all things Halloween than BORIS and his bride BERNICE.  I still think of her as more a Natasha but you can't have everything, right?  But I digress.....

Here is one of the cards that attendees will be making next Saturday.  I am still cooking up what the last project will be so it will be a surprise!

This design got its inspiration from this week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch #102.
I love working from sketches, especially when the creative mojo is not flowing.  It often jump starts my creativity.  I had to create a card that had Boris and Bernice together and I also needed a interesting shape for the background.  I have been working with the Digital Designs for the You're A Scream Stamp set and thought that enlarging the Spiderweb die cut would be perfect!  I love when you can multipurpose things!!! I also used the Boris and Bernice digital design cut files.  I have a nice stack of Boris and Bernice cutouts waiting for my workshop!

When a design works.....

When you find a card design that you love and that can be used for a multitude of occasions it makes the process so much quicker.  Who has not had a struggle with where to start?  I know I have!  There has been times that it has taken me hours to make a card because I do not know what to make.

For the cards below the design idea came from fellow A Muse Studio Consultant Lara Kalapacs (see card below but the photo does not do it justice).  I loved her design and it can work for so many different stamp sets.

Design using Spring Color Palette inks

Design using Spring Color Palette inks

Design using new NEON inks and Ocean

This is the card designed by Lara Kalapacs
The stamp sets that I used are Tini Time, Mad for Plaids, I Was Here, Essential Sentiments, Vintage Labels.

Ink colors:
First two cards - Blush, Buttercup, Sage, Sky and Versafine Onyx Black
Third card - Neon Pink, Neon Yellow, Neon Orange, Ocean and Versafine Onyx Black
All products A Muse Studio of course!

I hope you will try this design and would love to hear your comments.

Amazing Peonies

Day 4 of Sneak Peeks - If you have not tried the A Muse Studio Spray Splash! you really are missing out on a great product to use in your papercrafting.  Splash is pigment ink in liquid form that you can use in many different ways: spraying, drop application, painting, and even stamping!  It can be watered down with water when painting and the opacity is each to control.

I used the Neon Pink Spray Splash ink to create the background and then stamped the solid Pretty Peony stamp from the Pretty Peonies set using Versafine Onyx Black.  The sentiment is from the Hand Scripted set and the tag is from Vintage Labels 2 set.  To finish it off some Onyx Black twine and voila!

It's Neon Time

Time for a sneak peek with NEON!  I love the new neon Ink, Washi tape and Splash!  The new neon colors are Orange, Pink and Yellow.   The colors are fabulous and are really bright which unfortunately does not come out looking as bright when taking pictures.

I stamped the paper flowers with the neon ink using the Peppermint Swirl stamp.  Each flower has a Clear Twinkle Sticker in the center.  I cut strips of the Neon Washi tape to make the flags, which is so easy to do and really make the card pop!  The sentiment in from the Eat Cake set that was from the Hostess Incentive earlier this year.  You can easily substitute any large sentiment to get the same look.

You will want to add the new Neon products to your must-have A Muse Studio list!

Another Ghostly Sneak Peek

It is time for another sneak peek of a card made with the new Happy Haunting and Peppermint Swirl stamp sets.  I also used the Happy Haunting coordinating die set along with the What's Up? die for the sentiment.  The Peppermint Swirl background is so cool!  And it has so many uses (stay tuned for another posting....).
What do you think?  Will you be adding the Happy Haunting and Peppermint Swirl sets to your wish list?  Remember, ordering starts August 15th!   I can assist you with questions or if you need ordering assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Sneak Peek - Happy Haunting

Have you seen many sneak peeks at products from the soon-to-be-released 2013 A Muse Studio Holiday Catalog?  I love what I have seen so far and CANNOT wait to see it all on August 1st when the PDF version comes out!

So for my sneak peek... How about those Ghosts from the Happy Haunting set and the new Peppermint Swirl background?   What about the new neon inks?  I used the neon yellow in the center of the swirl to make it seem like you were either being sucked in or the ghosts where coming out.  The sentiment bubble is from the What's Up? die set and it goes perfectly with the sentiments from the Happy Haunting set.  The lower sentiment is a die cut from the Word Windows die set, inked up with more neon yellow.  You are going to L-O-V-E the new neon colors!!!  I am going to be working with the new Spray Splash inks and will post a sneak peek soon.

Enjoy the peeks!

Washi Tape Project

Today I was poking around Pinterest, one of my favor ways to spend copious amounts of time!  I mainly pin cards that I love and a good share of DYIs, recipes, Copic hints and places to visit.  Unfortunately I rarely am able to make most of the projects that I have pinned but I am safe in knowing that when the time and inclination hit, I can always make something from something I have pinned.

Today was such a day!  We are a family of iPhone users and we are always asking 'Who has my charger?' or 'Is this my charger?'.  Now no more!  I saw this great pin on using Washi tape and altering the charger to be sure no guy in my house will claim it for their own!  Check out my pimped out iPhone charger!  Isn't it SWEEET!

I used A Muse Studio Washi tape and one of them is BRAND NEW, from the hot new Neon collection!  The new neon colors are GORGEOUS and will be available starting August 15th.

Summer Cards

This summer has been a brutally hot one for us here in New England.  I hate to complain when it was not all that long ago when we were complaining about how cold it was and how there was so much snow!  But we New Englanders love our weather.  It is a love-hate relationship!

My Summer Cards Workshop was last week and it was so much fun to have my group make some super cute and FAST cards.  Two of them were designed by fellow A Muse Studio Consultant Melissa Roell.  She is super talented!  Thanks so much Melissa!  My group loved her cards.  This cards feature many of the A Muse Studio stamp sets that are featured in this month's Spotlight

Isn't this card sweet and super fast!  I used the Fiskars Wave punch to make the ocean waves, punching the Navy cardstock in two different directions to get a rolling seas effect.  I also love the white on white layering.
Lighthouse Life's a Breeze - Card Design by Melissa Roell

The card below features the Sea Shells and Life's A Breeze stamp sets.  I absolutely love this set!  I am a total sea loving girl and my favorite thing to do when I am at the beach is to comb the sand looking for sea shells, Sand dollars are my thing!  I have quite a collection with the smallest one the size of a pencil eraser.  The picture does not show it so well but I made a nautical knot with the Navy Baker's Cord for a special touch.  They are quite easy to make too!
A Warm Hello - Card Design by A Muse Studio

Another fabulous design by Melissa Roell.  It came together so quickly and these cards make a great stationery set!  The sails on the sailboat were stamped on the Cherry Petite Polkadot paper and trimmed to add dimension to the sailboat.  It is a great color combination with the Ocean and Cherry cardstock.
Sailboat Life's a Breeze - Card Design by Melissa Roell

I love the Lots of Dots stamp set!  For this card I enlisted two of the background image sets of the Mesh Background and Darling Dots.  By inking up the dots first and then stamping them on the background images you get added dimension to the dots.  It gives you so many more uses!  Imagine the same technique on the Marvelous Marigolds set!  It would be gorgeous!!   What is also great about this design is that you can use it for so many occasions and by changing up the colors can make it a great masculine card.  Change the sentiments and off you go!  No more struggling with a design.
Lots of Dots Celebration!
I hope you have enjoyed these cards!  There is still time to get these fabulous sets that are 10% off.  Go to my webstore today!  The special ends on July 31st at 11:59 pm EDT.

It's Just a Number

Getting older is a fact of life!  But if you let the number define you, then it becomes the thing that you dread.  Take for instance when I turned 25, my friends said "You are half a century old now!".  Boy, that did not feel good.

That was a while ago now and I am approaching another big milestone birthday next year.  I am not dreading it!   It is just a number!!!

Celebrate every Happy Birthday!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the great dads that I know.  I am lucky to be surrounded by so many great guys in my life!
