Multi-Purpose Stamps

This week's A Muse Addicts Weekly Challenge #22 is "Multi-Purpose Stamps". The challenge is to use A Muse stamps to create a card using the stamps in a different way than maybe they were created to be used.

I have used the Polar Bear stamp again. This time he is having some summer fun trying his paws at surfing.

Happy New Year 2008!

I cannot believe how quickly 2007 came and went! It has been quite the year.

Events of 2007
Jozzie's Trip North:
I got to spend an evening with my oldest friend Laurie (aka Jozzie). I wish she would move back North. Florida is too far away!

OBX Trip:

We went on our first trip to OBX (Outer Banks, NC) with our friends, Terri and Dennis and their kids (who won't move back North either). We got to meet their good friends, Laura and Bob and their kids. Our three families rented a house in Corolla and a wonderful time was had by all! Who could forget the power outage incident! We hope to be going back in 2009.

Coyote Visit:

This past October we had a coyote in our yard about 40 feet from our house. He looked very healthy and like he owned the place. I have not seen him since and that is fine by me!

Twitch (1992-2007):

On a sad note our oldest cat Twitch passed away a few weeks ago. He was 15 years old and lived a good life. He is sorely missed by all of us but especially his buddy, our Boxer Bijou. RIP Twitch.

Some of those we hold dear to us have had some trying times this year. We wish them a year of good health and happiness in 2008! We wish the same to all!

Warm Winter Wishes

This week's A Muse Addicts Weekly Challenge #21 is "Warm Winter Wishes".

Here is my card for this challenge. I love the polar bear!

I love glitter! Can you tell?

This card is very fitting given how much snow we have gotten. We have 2 feet of snow on the ground and there is no room to put any more. So far there has been two school snow days. At this rate school will be in session into late June. We have not had such a snowy December in a good long time.

I got an early Christmas Present!

I have been looking at the Garmin nĂ¼vi® 350 for a while now. I wanted one to help me navigate the streets in Cambridge to avoid traffic on my way home from work and for all the other long trips we take. I got one last night!

I was able to use it on my way home this afternoon. It sent me a different way from my normal route home. On another day it would be quicker but with all the snow on the streets traffic is a little slow. I did enjoy seeing the different sights and passed a craft studio in Porter Square that I may have to visit.

Are you ready for Christmas

Are you ready for Christmas? Is all the wrapping done?

My shopping is almost finished and wrapping up my gifts for my husband will be on my to-do list for this weekend. My husband is great at wrapping. We have a long standing deal: I shop, he wraps. It is a match made in heaven because wrapping is not something I love.

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love all the colors, lights, music and food that comes with this time of year. I get to spend time with both sides of our families and spend time at home. I am looking forward to being able to spend time card making and scrapping. I will be finishing up my 1992 album and starting on 1993. There are different schools of thought on how to scrap yours albums (chronologically or current and work backwards). For me chronologically works and I get to enjoy looking at my kids when they were babies. How time has flown by!

Here is our tree:

I am a blogger now!

Well I finally jumped into blogging with both feet! I have been thinking for some time whether to create a blog or not. I am not sure that many will find what I have to say interesting but at the very least it will be fun for me! I will be posting pictures of my card-making attempts as well as scrapbooking when I finally get back into my scrapping groove.

Anyway, welcome to my blog and if you are so inclined, check back soon to see my progress as I add more content.
